The Good: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

What more can be said about Tom Brady. He is the greatest quarterback to ever play the game of football. He makes every team he is on an instant Super Bowl contender. Kansas City came into the game missing 4 of their 5 stating and one backup offensive lineman. Patrick Mahomes had the worst game of his young career. All of the stars aligned for the home team tonight. All three phases of the game for the Bucs just worked. The defense knocked down just as many passes as were caught. Tyreke Hill was held in check. The running game was decent but not impactful. Mahomes looked….. human. Brady and Gronk looked like they turned back the clock 10 years with 2 Brady TD passes going to his old Patriot teammate. Jones and Fournette were a phenomenal 1, 2 punch in the backfield. Congrats to Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. Let’s see how loud the retirement talk gets after this win.

The Bad: Southampton Football Club.

Southampton. What in the world happened my dudes. 9-0.  I understand it is Manchester United but this isn’t the United from 10 years ago.  For some that are not fans of worlds game, English Soccer (Football) clubs played on Tuesday with Manchester stomping a mudhole in Southampton. Not only did United score 9 goals, but it came from 8 different goal scorers. Southampton is a proud club with a tradition of producing elite level talent like Virgil Van Dyke and Sadio Mane who are both superstars at Liverpool. These kinds of games just can’t happen for a team that has been a mainstay in the Premier League.

The Ugly: Britt Reid.

The Kansas City Chiefs are going to  be missing their linebackers coach Britt Reid for the Super Bowl. Sadly, it is not for a positive reason. He was involved in a multi vehicle car accident Thursday night leading  to a 5 year old going to the hospital in critical condition.  Allegedly, Reid had consumed an amount of alcohol along with prescription medication. First I hope that all injured parties are okay. Along with that, I hope this does not ruin the young coaches career. Especially with the name legacy he is attempting to live up to from his father, Andy Reid. Let the man get the help and knowledge he will need to lead a productive life. I hope it is a one time thing and just a poor error in judgement. His father and the rest of the Chiefs are in Tampa and this is not the kind of distraction they need before the biggest game of the season.

The Good: University of Alabama Football

I feel like all I do is talk about how amazing Alabama is, but they deserve every last bit of it. Not only did Alabama win the national on the field, they won the recruiting “national title” off the field by bringing in the highest rated class ever in the history of 24/7 Sports and their recruiting statistics. A class led by the top 2 offensive tackles, they got 23 of the top 255 players in the country. What can Saban do next? He’s gonna show everyone that he has the ability to step on a throat and put as many national titles as he can between him and Paul Bryant so there will not be a challenger for his “Greatest of All Time” mantle anytime soon.

The Bad: Kentucky Basketball

This particular post has been a long time coming. John Calipari is the king of bringing in 5 star recruits and just making it work. This year has not quite gone down the same road.  Kentucky is currently 5-12 at the time this goes live and no one has been able to put their finger on exactly what has happened.  Brandon Boston has not been able to really get it rolling. Jacob Toppin and Terrance Clark have dealt with injuries. Cam’Ron Fletcher was asked to take a leave from the team. Everything that should have gone wrong the last 10 years are all going wrong at the same time.  Kentucky fans are not used to seeing their team be this poor and  some will call of Coach Cals job, but big blue nation should not panic after one down season.

The Ugly: The Weekends Halftime Show

Ok he is an amazing singer. Ok he had most of a stadium to play around in and make a marvelous set. I understand the irony of all the dancers having their heads wrapped with something to resemble gauze. They did not need to be all of the dancers you were allowed to have. My wife said the entire performance gave her Michael Jackson Thriller vibes but in a bad way. She also mentioned top three worst halftime shows she has ever watched. It had no flow and little worth a darn design. I’m probably gonna get some hate for this and that’s fine but it was weird and not as entertaining as I was hoping it would have been. Plus no second artist. What the heck?!?!?!

The Final Good: Russell Wilson

A massive congratulations to Russell Wilson for being awarded the Walter Payton Man of the Year. This is the kind of guy that has always given back to the community of Seattle and is just as big of the fans of the Seahawks as he is. He is the type that has gone above and beyond in any way he is able, and has the respect of much of the NFL.  Congrats Russell and Ciara for the donation from the NFL to their charity the Why Not You foundation and keep up the good work.
